Denmark in Latin America

In the Latin America Strategy the Danish Governments points to six areas in which Denmark will strengthen cooperation with Latin America

The areas of priority are:
1) Promotion of peace, democracy and stability; 2) Cooperation concerning the environment, energy and climate change, Danish competencies regarding environment and energy will be marketed in a proactive manner and Denmark will cooperate with Latin America regarding a comprehensive global climate agreement; 3) Increased trade and investment by ensuring the best possible conditions for investment in Latin America, and at the same time attracting Latin American investors to Denmark; 4) Latin America’s strategies for meeting the challenges of globalisation are to be strengthened, as is social cohesion; 5) Development assistance to Latin America is to be maintained as an important part in Danish involvement in the continent; 6) Finally cultural cooperation and knowledge sharing will be promoted.
