As a follow-up to the updated Civil Society Strategy from 2008, this Report concerns the implementation of the goals of strategy in 2010. It is based on contributions from the Danish civil society organisations that had ongoing activities financed by the Danish government’s NGO appropriation for 2010.
This Report focuses on the extent to which the goals of the strategy have been promoted through the Danish organisations’ activities, thereby contributing to creating changes for civil society in developing countries. The Report is based on a new approach whereby the progress made in relation to implementing the Civil Society Strategy is analysed in light of the qualitative reporting by the organisations on six themes relating to the overarching goals: framework conditions; rights-based aid, advocacy and vibrant debate; aid effectiveness and harmonisation; partnership and representative, legitimate and locally based civil society; capacity development of civil society organisations; and fragile states and situations.
